hi, I'm william.
I live in Joplin, Missouri, with my cat Frances (a wheezy tortoiseshell who will eat anything) and my dog Bruno (a black lab mix who will eat anything). I graduated from the University of Arkansas' BFA Graphic Design program in 2020. I've been pursuing graphic design as a career and a passion since I was little, and I love every moment of this profession.
Writing was my first love: I spent countless hours in my room scrawling out books as a child, and many hours more adorning them with increasingly elaborate covers. I imagined that by now I'd still be writing and illustrating books, living off the wild tales I wove in my head.
In high school, I joined the newspaper staff, intending to scour the world for stories on the public's behalf and pass them along as eloquently as I could. It wasn't long before I realized that the type and images on each page could do just as much of the storytelling, and far more to draw in readers and keep them engaged. By the end of those four years, I was the paper's editor and designer, and a prospective BFA design student.
In large part, the reality I live now isn't much different from the one I imagined as a daydreaming third grader. Every design project offers me a unique opportunity to tell a story, create a lived experience, share a laugh, and encourage each viewer to help reshape this shifting, breathing world.
